This Sunday, July 26, we're taking UChurch to the grass. Alpine Park, 10:00 am to 12:00 pm. Calgary gives us about twelve good weeks of sunshine a year, and we're not wasting one of them indoors. Let's get outside, soak it up, and be together while the weather actually lets us.
Pack yourself a picnic lunch, sandwiches, wraps, veggies and dip, fruit, chips, whatever sounds good to you. If you're able, throw in a little extra to share with the group too, cookies, a watermelon, a jug of something cold. And don't forget a game, a ball, cards, a frisbee you forgot you owned, whatever "fun" means to you.
One of our own will be bringing a guitar for some easy worship, playing whenever the moment feels right, no set list required.
Kids are more than welcome, they're basically the guests of honour. A park, some grass, and a whole day to run around? This is their kind of Sunday, and honestly, it might be the best-behaved they are all week.
If it rains, we'll call it off. Nobody's fighting Alberta weather for a picnic. We'll make the call close to the day, so keep an eye out.
Good news, the park has grass for days, so invite a friend, a neighbour, whoever needs a reason to get outside.
